The other day one of my aunts called me it.. everyone close to me in my life seems to not be clicking into the pro-nouns and such and it has really been starting to bother me. I try and drop hints and such and they just laugh it off, the only person who is actually trying but still failing to use my proper name and pro-nouns is my partner. Do you have any advice on getting them to take me serious?

Hey Alex,

Shame on your Aunt! You should tell her that is not cool and that if she cannot treat you with respect then to move on. People think it is ok to talk like that for some reason to trans people. I don’t know why, but you need to stand your ground. If you show them that you will not tolerate that then hopefully they will get the message. Sorry you have to deal with that.
